Barnes Morgan MBBS BSc MSc FRCS (Tr&Orth): Consultant Elbow and Shoulder Surgeon, Stepping Hill Hospital
Mr Barnes Morgan is a Consultant Orthopaedic and Trauma Surgeon specialising in the care of patients with disorders of the shoulder and the elbow. His special interests include arthroscopic (key-hole) surgery for soft tissue tendon injuries and joint replacement surgery for shoulder & elbow arthritis. He also provides surgical treatments for tennis and golfer’s elbow (including PRP injections) and has expertise in the treatment of fractures and traumatic injuries to the entirety of the upper limb.
Mr Morgan performs office shoulder ultrasound when appropriate. This provides immediate diagnostic information to patients at their first clinic appointment, speeding the process of diagnosis and therefore treatment of diseases and injuries.
Mr Morgan developed his expertise from holding UK shoulder fellowship posts at Stepping Hill Hospital under the supervision of Mr Matt Ravenscroft and Mr Clive Warren-Smith, followed by an upper limb fellowship at the internationally renowned Wrightington Upper Limb Unit.
In addition to his surgical qualifications, he has a BSc in Neuroscience and an MSc in Trauma Surgery. Mr Morgan lectures nationally on shoulder surgery and is involved in running a national Arthroscopic Shoulder Surgery course. He is published in medical journals and has presented his research at national and international scientific meetings.
